Addresses

Includes academic and clinical office, and home addresses. One address needs to be specified as primary for mail/contact, which flows into the Find a Researcher and Faculty Finder applications. Clinical and Office addresses can be displayed on Find A Doctor. An approved list of buildings is provided to assist in address input.

Administrative Duties

Highlighted experience that could also be listed in Career or Service. Duplication is allowed, but the entries should not be identical. The Administrative Duties entry should describe administrative aspects of activity and typically apply to leadership and other administrative roles specifically.

Clinical Practice Experience

Training within a clinical setting. (Does not show on the SOM CV format)

Clinical Research

Patient-oriented research that focuses on mechanisms of human disease, therapeutic interventions, clinical trials or development of new technologies; epidemiologic and behavioral studies; and outcomes research and health services research. Provide the full name of the study, whether PI or company initiated, and the funding agency.

Example: Study of multiple ocular installations of ophthalmic solution, PI initiated, Inspire Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Clinical Specialties

Clinical expertise and subspecialties. Please select only specialties that you see patients for. (Does not show on the SOM CV format)

Clinical Teaching

Teaching activities performed within a clinical setting.

Continuing Education Courses Taught

Lecture given for continuing education purposes.

Course & Curriculum Development

Creation or advancement of academic courses of study. Records entered here could include: the creation of new courses, significantly enhancing/improving existing courses, and work on developing or re-envisioning existing courses, degree programs, and other curricula in higher education. Also includes the creation or advancement of academic courses of study for continuing education purposes.

Courses Directed

Managing/Organizing the content of a course.

Example: Director, Dermatology Organ Systems, University of Utah School of Medicine

Courses Taught

Courses within the University of Utah in which you are the official instructor of record should automatically be imported each semester from Campus Information System (CIS). Additional courses you have taught may also be manually entered as needed, whether at the University of Utah or another institution.

Degree Display Information

External Degree Display. This defines how the degree string (appended to the faculty member’s full name) will display on external information providers like Find-A-Doc. Add degrees and then order them using the sort Entries tool.
