Introduction to Jira Service Management

Dear University of Utah community,

To help you get support faster, University Faculty Information & Support (UFIS) uses a Service Desk ticketing system called Jira Service Management from Atlassian.

Jira has become widely used by various support teams globally to track submit and track requests. Jira Service Management is form-based and provides a customer portal for submitting request.

Some of the benefits of the new ticketing system:

  • Real-time updates and status

  • Direct communication with assigned UFIS team member

  • Email responses or replies are captured in the ticket

  • Knowledge articles for common issues and questions

  • Request support on behalf of a colleague

 

You can submit requests and view knowledge base articles through the the UFIS Help Center. Create a Help Center account to view open or previously submitted requests.
